BPM/Key Analysis Guide
The BPM/Key analyzer detects tempo (BPM) and key of audio files directly in your browser. It uses Essentia.js (WASM) and processes everything on your device. Useful for DJ mixing, remixing, sampling, and practice.
What is BPM
BPM (Beats Per Minute) is the number of beats per minute. 60 BPM means one beat per second; 120 BPM means two beats per second. Knowing BPM helps when mixing two tracks or when remixing and sampling.
What is Key
Key indicates the tonal center of a track (e.g., C Major, A Minor). Mixing compatible keys produces smoother transitions. The Camelot Wheel can help you find keys that mix well together.
Accuracy
Results are for reference only. Complex rhythms, tempo changes, or highly dynamic tracks may yield less accurate BPM or Key. Using files with at least 30 seconds of audio tends to give more stable results.
